Creatine for BJJ and grappling
Jiu-jitsu is a sport of repeated hard efforts: a scramble, a pass attempt, a guard retention battle, then a few seconds to breathe and go again. That pattern of short, high-intensity bursts is exactly what creatine's authorised UK claim describes.
The authorised claim: creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine. This applies to adults performing high-intensity exercise.
How grapplers use it
- Every day, not just training days. The effect is based on a daily intake, so most people take one serving at the same time each day.
- Timing is flexible. Before class, after class or with breakfast. Pick the time you'll remember.
- Mix it into anything. Water, juice or your shake. Micronised creatine mixes more easily than standard powder.
Making weight
If you compete at a weigh-in, talk to your coach about when you take it in the run-up to a cut. Creatine itself is not a weight-loss or weight-gain product, and we don't make any claims about body weight.
Tested competition
Every Anima batch comes with a certificate of conformity from our UK manufacturer, and the batch number is printed on every tub. We are not Informed Sport certified yet; independent batch testing is planned. If you compete under anti-doping rules, you may want to wait until we are.
What's in the tub
One ingredient: micronised creatine monohydrate. 500 g, 100 servings of 5 g. No flavourings, sweeteners or fillers.
