    Nothing hidden

The one supplement the UK government actually tells you to take — at a real winter dose, with nothing about its source hidden.

The numbers (per capsule, daily)

  • Vitamin D3: 75µg (3,000 IU) · 1500% NRV
  • Vitamin K2 (as MK-7): 100µg · 133% NRV
  • 90 capsules · 90 days · vegetarian (not vegan — and we say why)

Figures per the manufacturer datasheet; final printed values are confirmed against each production batch's Certificate of Analysis before sale.

Why this exists

The NHS advice is unusually direct: "everyone (including pregnant and breastfeeding women) should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D during the autumn and winter." Between October and early March, the UK doesn't get enough sun to make it.

The government's own National Diet and Nutrition Survey (2019–2023) found 18% of UK adults deficient year-round, rising to 31% in winter. This isn't a wellness trend. It's a documented national shortfall.

Where the dose sits — printed, not implied

The NHS baseline is 10µg (400 IU) through autumn and winter. The safe upper limit for daily supplementation is 100µg (4,000 IU). Ours is 75µg — 3,000 IU — a winter-strength dose that sits at three-quarters of the upper limit. The label tells you exactly where that is, rather than treating a bigger number as a better product or hiding a small one.

Where we differ

  • We tell you what it's made from. Our D3 is lanolin-derived — sheep's wool grease, the same source as most of the UK shelf, including the market-leading spray brand's main range. The difference is we say so, on the label. Suitable for vegetarians; not vegan. A properly made vegan lichen D3 + K2 combination doesn't yet exist at small-batch scale — when it does, we'll make it, and we'll say that on the label too.
  • K2 as MK-7, the form with the useful half-life, at a full 100µg.

What we're allowed to say

  • Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones
  • Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function
  • Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system
  • Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus
  • Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting
  • Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones

You'll see K2 marketed for heart and artery health. There is no authorised cardiovascular claim for vitamin K in Great Britain — EFSA assessed it and rejected it. So we don't make it.

The paperwork

Per-batch identity, potency and heavy-metal testing, published against your bottle's batch number.

Do not exceed 100 micrograms (4,000 IU) of vitamin D a day. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. If you take blood-thinning medication, speak to your doctor before taking vitamin K.

The science

What we're allowed to say — the authorised EU/GB claims for the actives in this pack:

  • Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, muscle function and teeth
  • Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system
  • Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting and the maintenance of normal bones

We print only the claims the law authorises for these ingredients, at these doses. Nothing more.

The honest-label test

The same actives sit in a lot of tubs. The difference is what a brand is willing to print next to them.

Anima prints
  • Every active, with its exact dose & %NRV
  • The full ingredient list — fillers included
  • Only the health claims GB law authorises
  • A Certificate of Analysis, per batch, by number
  • Where it’s made and what it’s made from
The category often hides
  • “Proprietary blends” with no per-ingredient dose
  • Bulking agents behind a marketing name
  • Claims with no authorised basis in GB law
  • Testing that’s referenced but never shown
  • Source and origin left deliberately vague

Questions, answered

What does “nothing hidden” actually mean?

Every ingredient is printed with its dose, every filler is named, and a Certificate of Analysis is published for each batch against the number on your pack. If it isn’t on the label, it isn’t in the pack.

Are the health claims on this site legal?

We only use health claims authorised on the GB nutrition and health claims register, at the doses those claims require. Where a popular claim isn’t authorised — botanicals like ashwagandha and turmeric, or cardiovascular claims for K2 — we say so and make no claim.

Where is it made, and is it tested?

Manufactured in the UK to GMP standard. Each batch is tested for identity, potency and heavy metals (plus microbiology on powders), and the results are published per batch.

What about sweeteners and fillers?

No sweeteners, ever. Any bulking or anti-caking agent needed to make a capsule work is named in full in the ingredient list — never hidden behind a “complex”.
